World’s Securities Commissions around the world have united to promote financial literacy and boost financial inclusion, ringing the bell in multiple countries on multiple days all week during World Investor Week (“WIW”) 2019.

The World Federation of Exchanges (“WFE”), and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (“IOSCO”) have partnered up to set up a ‘Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy’ initiative as part of WIW 2019, which runs from Monday, September 30 to Sunday, October  6, 2019.

The WIW is a week-long, global campaign to raise awareness about the enormous importance of investor education and protection.

This year, IOSCO and the WFE are working in partnership on this new initiative to support WIW called ‘Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy’. The WFE invited its members to hold an opening or closing bell-ringing ceremony, or a workshop during WIW 2019 to promote the work they do in their own jurisdictions to improve financial education and literacy.

The Dutch Caribbean Securities Exchange (DCSX) as an affiliate of the World Federation of Exchanges supports this initiative and held its own “closing bell ringing ceremony”. On October 4 we hit the gong that we use for listing ceremonies in support of this great initiative.

The DCSX supports several initiatives with the goal to improve financial literacy including basic investment articles and investment courses a/o workshops. We acknowledge the importance of financial literacy and will continue to support such initiatives. Only good can come from that.
