The 36th Edition of the International Fair of Havana (“FIHAV”) took place from October 29 to November 2, 2018. The DCSX participated at the fair as part of the Curaçao delegation organized by the Ministry of Economic Development (“MEO”), led by Minister Dr. Steven Martina and his team.

This time DCSX was represented by our Commercial Officer Diana Intriago Cordova. This is the second time we participated in the Fair and the third time we traveled to Havana, to strengthen the business relations with the Cuban Ministerio de Comercio Exterior (“MINCEX”). With the collaboration of the Dutch Embassy in Cuba and MEO, we had two important meetings with key Cuban government representatives who were interested in learning about the possibilities to seek financing thru DCSX.

On Tuesday, October 30, we had a technical meeting with Anamary Suarez (Directora de Precios del MINCEX) and Yudith Viera (Especialista de la Direccion de Politica Comercial con Latam y Caribe), Jose Eduardo Perez (Especialista A en Gestion Economica del Grupo Empresarial del Comercio Exterior de Cuba), Vanessa Toré and John S. Hensen Policy Advisors from MEO. To resume, we confirmed our compromise with the Cuban government to help them obtain financing thru our platform. Also, together with MEO we invited them to visit Curacao to meet the DCSX team, Board Members, Listing Advisors, Brokers, and CBCS.

On Thursday, November 1, we had the second meeting with Yamila Fernandez del Busto – Directora General de Economia del Ministerio de Comercio Exterior de Cuba (“MINCEX”), Jennifer Serantes (Esp.en Organización y Desarrollo de la Rama del COMEX), Yudith Viera, Anamary Suarez and Jose Eduardo Perez from the Cuban government; Rodney Bustamente (Senior Economic Assistant from the Embassy of the Kindom of the Nederlands in Habana), Vanessa Tore and John S. Hensen from MEO and Rogier van den Heuvel (Partner of the Law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne – Listing Advisor of DCSX). This was a great opportunity to discuss in details the DCSX procedures, organization, and regulation; and MINCEX representatives also gave a general idea of their needs.

DCSX with the support of MEO will continue strengthening the relations with the Cuban entities.
