On Monday, January 15, 2019, the Dutch Caribbean Securities Exchange welcomed the New Year alongside its main members, listing advisors, brokers, supervisory board and foundation members, auditors and many other collaborators at the Saint Tropez Ocean Club & Apartments and Suites. We were honored with the presence of the Minister of Finance, Mr. Kenneth Gijsbertha.
Looking back, 2019 was a very exciting and challenging year. We proudly accomplished the launch of our electronic trading system in February, and as a result, most of the new listing applications we received were for tradable listings. The launch of the trading system also resulted in increased interest from several entities to become a broker on the DCSX in the near future. During 2019 we onboarded 7 new listing advisors and one broker and we closed the year with 23 additional approved listings.
We will continue to work hard in 2020 to expand our reach in our local market hopefully with the help of our local government. We also plan to expand our reach in the Asian market specifically, China, Singapore, Japan, and Australia. And we will continue looking for opportunities in the Latin American region, and Europe.
Together with our relations, we will do our best to make 2020 another successful year.
