Talks2Future, is an initiative of the Costa Rica Stock Exchange “Bolsa Nacional de Valores de Costa Rica”. Through various topics aimed mainly at the capital market and the financial sector, they wish to showcase new opportunities and advantages to grow and improve the industry. The format of the first edition of Talks2Future consisted of presentations, discussions, and talks about success stories through a digital platform. The event was sponsored by Huawei, the Public Services Company of Heredia with its digital signature IBUX and the Infinit-X Latam Company and took place on  Friday, September 11, 2020.

Several interesting topics regarding digital transformation were discussed including:

• Technological Disruptions and their Impact on Business presented by Mr. Gerardo Corrales Brenes (Director, Economía Hoy)
• Strategic Transformation in Times of Crisis, Now, Next, Beyond presented by Mr. Mario Morales Rodríguez (Director Strategy and Innovation, EY)
• Telework Challenges and What We Face presented by Mr. Daniel Suchar Zomer (PhD in Business Sciences, Financial Analyst, and University Professor)
• The topic New Customer Language: More Digital, More Competitive was discussed by Mr. Johan Montero Araya, and Mr. Daniel Vargas Salas (Directors at IBUX-ESPH),
• Technological Transformation in the Financial Sector: Challenges and Opportunities for Banking During and After the Pandemic presented by Mr. Elín Martínez (Director of IT Technology, Huawei Enterprise LATAM.)
• WeBank: Digital Bank Decoded (presented by Mr. Wang Hui, President, Financial Services Business, Huawei LATAM)
• The Success Stories of the Bank of China, the Bombay Stock Exchange, and the National Bank of Greece were showcased through short videos.

The presentations and discussions during the session took the attention of attendees with their chosen interactive format. Most presentations acknowledged the impact of COVID-19 on the acceleration of the digitization of businesses, the importance of innovation, the need to strategically modernize the old business model, and update business plans for the coming 5 to 10 years.

Industries, and mainly the financial sector, are rapidly changing in terms of technology and user demand, so periodically the initiative is planning to present the most recent significant advances and other current issues that will be of interest to the sector.
